He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Sostrom and Shirley "Ann" Sostrom; his son Stephen Sostrom; his stepson Jordan Russell; and his son-in-law Andrew Lingg.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Sostrom; his children, Maria Lingg, Ben Sostrom (Jeff Horst), John Eric Sostrom and Melissa Choi Sostrom; his grandchildren, Dante, Damien Sostrom and Cohen Davies; and his sisters, Kristen Sostrom and Deena "Dee" Sostrom (Hal Moore). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
