It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carmen Alicea (Youngstown, Ohio), who passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Carmen leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Ortiz Sr. and Lenor Negron Ortiz; her son Richard Garcia Jr.; and her brothers, George Ortiz Jr., Felix Ortiz and David Ortiz.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Aviles of New York and Sophia Alicea of Youngstown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
