She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert "Blair" Shilling and Leona Shilling (Shaeffer); and her siblings, Robert Shilling, Glenn Shilling, Merle Shilling, Gary Don Shilling, Shirley Nord, Wanda Merkel and Judy Kay Shilling.

She is survived by: her children, Shannon Allen (Troy) of Columbiana, OH, Bobbi Gonzalez (Lucas) of Youngstown, OH, Jason Thomas of Bonaire, GA, Damion Thomas of Youngstown, OH and Jedediah Thomas of Youngstown, OH.. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, many nieces and nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home - Poland (270 N Main St, Poland, OH 44514). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

“I have fond memories of Grandma Leona. She made costumes for her grand children. I got a cowboy outfit. Grandma was magical in baking cookies. All the grandchildren felt her love. I can understand how Aunt Cindy modeled her life after Leona — the sewing, the baking, the caring for lots of children. And yes, we were avid card players of the game of spades.”

“Aunt Cindy was three years older than I. With my cousins Karen and Chuck, we would play a game of Button Button who got the Button? The children start by sitting on the bottom stair of a staircase. The leader holds out both fists, one holding a button. The leader asks, "Button, button, who's got the button?" Whoever guesses correctly advances one step. The first one to reach the top step wins the game.”
