He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Handel-McGiffin and Noreen Handel-McGiffin; his siblings, Thomas McGiffin (Debbie) of Girard, Tim McGiffin (Lisa) of Poland, Nora Page (Dennis) of Sevierville, TN and Kathleen Longacre of Aurora, Ill.; his nieces and nephews, Tommy Powell (Marie Agona), Bridget Powell, Krystina Thomas (Chris), Michael McGiffin (Maura), Ryan McGiffin (Kaitlin) and Madeline Longacre; his niece-in-law Alana Page; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Arthur, Madison and Anya; his godchildren, Anna, Bruce, Landon, Mario, Jay, Patrick, August and Evyn; his uncle Dan; his aunts, Dolly Handel and Ann Handel-Gudas; his friend Markus Benkert; his family, Conrad and Mariana Schiff; and his friends, Michael, Marie Vostatek, Uria, Rebecca and Schlabach.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McCauley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Dominic Church (77 E Lucius Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507).
In lieu of flowers, Dan had requested contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of the Valley.
