He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde Sr. Murray and Florence Moran Murray; and his siblings, Rev. Clyde Jr., Charles Murray, Virginia Smith, Madeline Radford, Julia Patterson, Norma Murray and Thelma Jefferson.

He is survived by : his wife Rebecca A. Thomas; his children, Channal Franklin of Campbell, Brandie Thomas of Youngstown, Earnest C. Murray, Jr. of Richmond, VA and Channing C. Franklin of Youngstown; his grandchild Genice Williams; his brothers, William of Virginia, James of Virginia, Thomas of Virginia and Eldridge of North Carolina; his godchildren, Alan Rouse and Keyauna Berry; and his sister-in-law Renee Spence of Youngstown. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Alpha & Omega First Baptist Church (3120 Winton Ave, Youngstown, OH 44505). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
