With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Rakocy of Youngstown, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Rakocy and Mary Lucansky Rakocy; and his daughter Andrea Rakocy Burton. He is survived by: his wife Paula Higgins; his children, Mary Rakocy-Dietsch (Stephen Eddy) of Columbus and Mark Edward Rakocy of Los Angeles, CA.; his grandchildren, Brieanna Burton-Kimple (John), Benjamin Burton, Bailey Zoey Burton and Hannah Dietsch; his great grandchild Olie; his brother Terry Rakocy (Carol) of Columbus; his nieces, Jennifer, Julie, Patty and Kathleen; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Higgins and Tony Higgins.
Donations can be made in Ed's name to Toys for Tots in memory of his work with students.
