He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony DeFuria and Concetta DelMonte DeFuria; his wife Vera Castrucci; his siblings, Anthony DeFuria Jr., Louis DeFuria, Stella Nichols, Josephine DeFuria, Helen Ferko and Diana Schaeffer; his son-in-law Bruce Gething; and his granddaughter Sarah Gething.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Maloney (Terry) of Boardman, Angela Gething of Brookfield, Doreen Cogar (Jim) of Canfield, Joseph DeFuria Jr. (Tammy) of Hiram and Dennis DeFuria (Joielle) of Canfield; his sisters, Dora Andio, Norma Brooke and Lillian Weimer (Bill); his brother-in-law Charles Schaeffer; and his grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Joseph, Tara, Megan, Brian, Katie, James, Erica, Philip, Liana, Mariah, Miranda, Michelle, Marcus and Caitlin. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Kinnick Funeral Home (477 N Meridian Rd, Youngstown, OH 44509). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Christine Church (3165 S Schenley Ave, Youngstown, OH 44511).
