He was predeceased by: his parents, John Yenkal and Mary Margala Yenkal; his wife Dorothy Lucas Yankel; and his brother Eugene J. Yankel. He is survived by: his family James Yankel (Tea) of Sugarcreek Twp; his grandchildren, Christine Yankel, Michael Yankel (Jessica), Erica Everett (Ryan), Ryan Patrick (Kristin Osiniak), Sarah Patrick, Jared Patrick (Lindsay), Melissa Knapp (Chad), Michael Yatsco (Alison) and Jackson Yankel; and his great grandchildren, Nora, Emma Yankel, Mallory Vincent, Nicholas Everett, Olivia Knapp and Penelope Yatsco.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Fox Funeral Home (4700 Market St, Youngstown, OH 44512). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Charles Church (7325 Westview Dr, Youngstown, OH 44512). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Saint John the Baptist Cemetery (3900 Villa Marie Rd, Lowellville, OH 44436).
