He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Bankhead and Beatrice A Brown Bankhead; his siblings, Lucy, Keith, Tallulah, Ronald, Irene and Gerald "Butch" Bankhead; and his daughter Erin.

He is survived by: his children, Shawn, Rochelle, William Jr., Sheena and Shain; and his brother Calvin Bankhead. He is also survived by several grandchildren, one great-grandchildren.
