It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christopher J. Smeltzer (Zanesville, Ohio), born in Newark, Ohio, who passed away on December 14, 2022, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph G. Smeltzer and Mary Cornett Smeltzer. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Walton Smeltzer; his daughters, Angela Summerville (Jonathan) and Jennifer Lyons (Mike); his granddaughters, Grace Lyons and Faith Summerville; and his siblings, Tom Smeltzer (Sue) and Peggy Gulker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made in Chris's name to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave. Zanesville, OH 43701.
