She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur F. Clapper and Glenna Ramage Clapper; her former husband Harold Van Horn; her son Harold "Randy" Van Horn; her husband Eugene Swope; and her granddaughter Ashley Sowers.

She is survived by: her daughters, Joanne Haug (Jon) and Christine "Kay" Atkinson (Ralph); her stepdaughters, Vicki Sowers (Frank), Connie Wren, Trudy Ragan (Roger), Lisa Fowler (Marvin) and Amy Swope; and her siblings, Dale Clapper (Beverly), Norma Coyle (Jerry), Edna Huston (Larry), Rose Harding (James) and Jane Ayers (Ronald). She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
