He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Owen Patterson and Jean Porter; his former wife Dorothy Patterson; his son Tim Patterson; his parents-in-law, Dan Miller and Fern; and his children-in-law, Sondra Young and Dean Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Patterson (Miller); his children, Chris Patterson (Michelle), Tammy Pack, Trina Kaiser (Jeff), Connie Patterson (Kurtis) and Charity Patterson (Aaron); his brother Carroll Patterson (Patty); and his stepchildren, Wendi Miller, Gary Young (Stephanie), Wayne Young, Donald Jeffers (Tammy), Donna Powell and Diane Saylor (Orland). He is also survived by several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
