He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sims and Virginia Sims (Maia). He is survived by: his wife Alta; his daughter Ann Elisabeth; his niece Dr. Alexandra Dale of Virginia Beach; his sister Susie; and his brother-in-law Jim Dale.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home & Crematory (1271 Blue Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701).
In lieu of flowers, Michael's family requests that any gifts made in his memory be directed to the Zanesville Museum of Art, where he volunteered as a docent during the last 10 years of his life.
