He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hamilton and Wilda Hanning Hamilton; his daughter Stephanie Hamilton; and his siblings, Richard, Bryce Hamilton, Sherry, Victoria Hamilton and Connie Stewart.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia McCormick Hamilton; his children, Lora Mancuso (Alberto), Stephen Hamilton Jr. and Chad Hamilton; his siblings, Larry "Mike" Hamilton, Barry Hamilton, Charles Hamilton, George Hamilton, Billy Hamilton, Rita Kelly (Charles) and Peggy Hamilton; his grandchildren, Breanna Douglass, Jocelynn Dudas, Karleigh Dudas, Drew Grant, Raylynn Hamilton and Chance Starrett (Hamilton); and his great grandchildren, Aidley Douglass, Amila Douglass and Canon Douglass.
