He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edward Shaw and Dovie Opal Shaw (Wilson); his siblings, Jerry Shaw, Gene Shaw, Bill Shaw, Dwain Shaw, Troy Shaw and Wilma Danielson; and his son Harold Shaw.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth L. Shaw; and his children, Sherri Calaway (Darren Calaway), Ronnie Shaw (Margie), James Shaw (Malinda), Kenny Shaw, Dale Pool (Sally), Shelly Teel (Scott) and Kelly Pool. He is also survived by many grandchildren and greet grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
