She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Carpenter and Beverly Carpenter (Steele); her stepfather Bob Steele; and her siblings, Donna Carpenter and Kenneth Carpenter Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Megan Sims (Thomas) and Chance Kelley (Jamea); and her grandchildren, Alex Whelchel, Gavin Kelley and Emiley Whelchel.
