She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel Thomas and Inez Garrett (Belcher); her brother Joel (Frances Garrett); and her brother-in-law Dr. Ben Benson. She is survived by: her children, Bryce Benson (Sherrie) of Alva and Brenda Rose (Keith) of Alva; her grandchildren, Sherryce Pinon (Tyler) of Castlerock, Chrystal Detring (Tyler) of Bixby, Nathan Rose (Candra) of Elk City and Shannon Wilson (Ryne) of Alva; and her sister-in-law Nita Benson of Woodward. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.
Viewing was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home of Alva (230 Flynn St, Alva, OK 73717). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church (821 College Ave, Alva, OK 73717).
