We announce the death of Surlena Joan Elix (Anadarko, Oklahoma), who passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 94. Surlena will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Governer Brown and Mary Drayden Brown; her husband Walter Elix; and her siblings, Katherine McClintock, Joyce Covington, Jaine Marshall, Bertie Pinkard and Mary Nelson of James Brown, REV..

She is survived by: her children, Juanita Williamson, Sammie Elix and Alfred Joe Elix; her granddaughter Surelena Elix of Hobart, OK.; her great grandchildren, Alexandra Graham (Antwuan) of Hobart, OK and Leslie Ensey (Randy) of El Reno, OK.; her great great grandchildren, Destynee Graham, Marcell Graham, Temperance Graham, Apollo Graham, Drew Ensey, Ryker Ensey, Jaxton Ensey and Emmitt Ensey; her siblings, Minnie Robinson of Hamlin, TX, William Brown of Hamlin, TX and Charles Brown; and her sons, Walter Ray, Johnny Lee and Larry Elix.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 3:30 PM.
