He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean O Nichols, Sr. and Sophia Pauline (Moser) of Bowie; and his sister-in-law Marita Nichols (Wilson) of Tyler, Texas.. He is survived by: his brothers, Dean O. "Don" Nichols and William Thomas Nichols; his nieces, Lisa Nichols Lowrance (Michael) and Lori Nichols Thomason (Andy); his great-niece Sophia Rose Morros; and his nephew Adam Thomason (Jan Burton). He is also survived by many other friends and extended family.
