He was predeceased by: his parents, Granvle Gerald Byrne and Margaret Geraldine Byrne (Coffey); and his siblings, Debra Bowser and Granvle Gerry Byrne. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his son Shawn Byrne (Katie); his grandson Grayson; his children, Gregory Byrne, Richard Poe, Jordan Smith, Jessica Smith and Shiloh Smith; his stepdaughter Lisa Gwin; and his close friends, Claude Hamilton, Corky Day and Harold Lee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Herbert had worked as a security guard with the Noble Foundation.
