He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe David Pilgrim and Lizzy L. L. Pilgrim (Holt); his brother Claude Wesley Pilgrim; his siblings-in-law, Neva Lafon Clark, Ferrell Herndon, Jack Cumbie, Jack D. Jones and Emitt Clark; his nephews, Bobby Dale Clark and Randy Cumbie; and his great-nephew Jeremy Cumbie.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Pilgrim; his children, Mitchell Pilgrim (Kasey) of Ardmore and Mona Kaye Cunningham (Jackie) of Springer; his sister Sharon Jones (Virgil Page); his grandchildren, Jack "Trey" Cunningham III, Miles "Kade" Cunningham, Logun Love, Dakota Mays and Lindsey Gaston; and his siblings-in-law, Mona Jo Cumbie, Glynda Herndon, Nancy Kirk (Doug), Eddie Brown (Dawn) and Tommy Brown (Vickie).
