He is survived by : his stepson Oliver Gaines (Arleta Gaines); his grandchildren, Shantel Berry, Oliver Craig Gaines, Robert G. Gaines, Keisha Willis, Marcellus Smith and Darrius Cohee; and his siblings-in-law, Frances Benson, Ola Mae Kemp, Vera Benson and William Lamey Jr.. He is also survived by other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
