We announce the death of Charles Lee Cooksey of Atoka, Oklahoma, who passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 62. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Dean Sr. and Jewel Lucille Cooksey (Drain); his daughter Christy Bench (Jack Bench); his brother Carroll Cooksey (Verna); his grandson Isaiah Billy; and his grandparents, Charles, Elizabeth Cooksey, Archie and Johnnie Drain.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Jean Cooksey (Nutt); his children, Waede Ames (Keisha), Chadd Cooksey (Courtney Stephen) and Jordan Taylor (Tye); his grandchildren, Tyler Ames (Carmella Lopez), Kaylee Ames, Keely Wingate, Shakota Stephens, Taleska Stephens and Bucklee Charlz Taylor; his brother Harold Dean; his in-laws, Teresa Combs (Randy), Sandra Trent (Mike), Stacy Nutt (Ann) and Phillip Nutt (Tamara); his uncle Leon; and his aunt Carrie Huschke. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
