He was predeceased by: his parents, O'Neal Yates and Maybell Yates; his brother Chester Joseph Lathan; and his grandson Chance Yates. He is survived by: his close friend Arlene Jacobs; his children, Chandra, Willie Alford of Caney, Justin, Jennifer Yates of Caney and Samantha Hearrell of Boswell, Oklahoma; his siblings, Dicky Yates (Shirlene) of Atoka, Tim Yates, Dewight Lathan of Hugo, Oklahoma and Nedra Sossaman (Bobby) of Georgetown, Texas; his sister-in-law Brenda Lathan of Copperas Cove, Texas; and his grandchildren, Austin Yates, Cameron Yates, Ethan Yates, Payton Smith, Tanner Smith, Kamry Westmoreland, Ryder Westmoreland and Jase Stiles.
