He was predeceased by : his parents, Chester Leo Hatfield and Juanita Christine Hatfield; and his son Jimmy Hatfield. He is survived by : his wife Jan; his daughter Julie Brown (Wayne); his daughter-in-law Brenda Hatfield; and his grandchildren, J. R. Brown (Megan), John Brown (Mallory), Tim Wilson (Christi), Kamree Legg (Austin), Kori Brinkley (Austin) and Mariah Mitchell (Clay). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Freewill Baptist Church (200 W Chestnut Ave, Barnsdall, OK 74002).
