He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Hughes, Jr. and Carmen Delores Smith; and his granddaughter Leona Sue Tatum. He is survived by: his wife DeLaine Sue Hughes; his daughters, Ashley Carissa Rendich of Bartlesville, MaLaina Suedale Hughes of Ramona and Courtney Renae Martin (Cole) of Talala, Oklahoma; his sister Susan Hughes-Martin of Bartlesville; and his nephews, Dustin Peck of Ramona and Christopher Peck of Bartlesville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
