He was predeceased by: his parents, Glessner Long Whistler and Orlena Whistler (Eversole); and his brothers, Mike Whistler and Neil Whistler. He is survived by: his wife Betty Wigger; his sister Mary Lou McDaniel (Denny McDaniel); his daughter Beth Beard (Steve Beard); his grandchildren, Kate Beard, Abby (Beard), Justin Miles and Tom Beard; his daughter Becky Armstrong (Steve Armstrong); his grandchildren, Jack Armstrong and Ellen Armstrong (Graham Ford); his daughter Barbara Kane (John B. Kane); his grandchildren, Jane (Dutcher), Preston Bartley, Betsy Dutcher, John J., Alicia Kane, Elizabeth (Kane), Matt Wilson and Caroline Kane; and his great grandchildren, Evie Jane Powell, Easton Bartley, Jack Bartley, Natalie Kane, Johnny Kane and Charlie Kane.
