She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Stephens and Bessie Allen Stephens; and her siblings, Freda Stephens, Elzie Stephens, Eveline Bernard and Normia Loftus.

She is survived by: her former spouse Alva Grindle Jr.; her children, Ginger Shield of Broken Arrow, Scott Grindle (Marsha) of Tulsa and Donna Limbocker (Sam) of Norman; her grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson-Burns (David) of Norman, Jessica May (Josh) of Lewisville, Anna Hartung (Matt) of Tulsa, Steven Shield (Becca) of Cleveland, Allison Grindle (Melissa Peck) of Dallas and Scott Wilson (Katie) of Batavia, Ohio; her siblings, Ellis Stephens (Lois) of Bartlesville, Maxine Mattox of Broken Arrow and Imogean Schmidt of Tulsa; and her sister-in-law Judy Grindle of Langley. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
