As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Hazel may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Buckhorn and Annie Buckhorn (Dick); her husband Alvin B. Yazzie of Valentine's Day; her daughter Freda Yazzie; and her brothers, Wadie Buckhorn, Jimmy Buckhorn and DJ Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Nelvin Ron Yazzie, Dolores Yazzie of Oklahoma City, Loretta Yazzie Lopez of Ramona and Darlene Yazzie Banda of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home (117 W Delaware St, Tahlequah, OK 74464). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Long Springs Cemetery.
