He was predeceased by: his father Willard Dean; his grandparents, Hardy, LaVon Hale, Eris and Mary Shanklin; his niece JaLisa Hale; his sister-in-law Johnna Hale; and his father-in-law Jim Gorham.

He is survived by: his mother Phyllis Kay Hale (Shanklin) of Weatherford, Oklahoma; his wife Kaye Hale; his sons, Trevor Hale (Megan) and Tanner Hale (Ashley); his grandchildren, Jack and Grace; his brothers, Ron Hale (Rinda) of Hinton and Duane Hale (Nita) of Fort Worth, Texas; his mother-in-law Mary Gorham of Hinton; his in-laws, Marysa and Lon Mincks of Oklahoma City; his uncle Joe; and his aunts, Coleen Heldermon of Hinton and Carolyn Ralston of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Byron's life.
