He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Oster and Joyce Oster; and his grandson Connor Woods. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Oster; his daughter Kristina Woods; his son-in-law Christopher Woods of Bixby, Oklahoma; his daughter Fran Knoll of Bismarck; his granddaughters, Ashley Woods and Kate Woods-Hiserodt; his grandson-in-law Otto Hiserodt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his sister Linda Nelson.
