He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Cefoi Lanie and Marie Hicks; and his siblings, Colleen Schiltz and William Lanie. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Lanie of Blackwell; his daughters, Toni Lanie Stone (Terry) of Lawton, Oklahoma and Tonya Bevins (Bryan) of Perry, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Chelsea Harris of Broomfield, Colorado, Justina Bell of San Francisco, California, Blair Blay of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Dustin Hall of Nardin, Oklahoma and Marissa Bevins of Perry, Oklahoma; and his great grandchildren, Ethan Harris, Jacob Blay, Jordan Harris, Lanie Hall and Nolan Harris.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the OU Children's Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
