He was predeceased by : his parents, John Harold Tinsley, Sr. and Lillie Mae Tinsley Sanders (Peterson); and his siblings, Clo Berg, Bobbie Nasser and Drew Tinsley.

He is survived by : his wife Judy M. Tinsley; his sons, John H. "Trey" Tinsley, III of Georgetown and C. Mark Tinsley of Denton, Texas; and his grandchildren, Sarah E. Tinsley, Peyton E. Tinsley and John H. "Hank" Tinsley, IV. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many more loving family members and friends.
