He is survived by: his wife Sandy Thurmond; his son Gary Thurmond; his stepchildren, Scott, John, Mark, Aaron, Aleigh and Adam; his sister Linda Thurmond; and his nephew Jeremy Rush. He is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends.
