He was predeceased by: his parents, John Claude and Zelma Stone (Hulsey); his former wife Shirley; his stepparents, Lemuel and Helen; and his brothers, Bert Howard and Bill Howard.

He is survived by: his wife Paula Stone; his daughters, Deborah Salas (Raul) of San Antonio and Melissa Harmon (James) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Bud Howard (Sunni) of Monte Vista, Colorado, Mary Childress of Grand Prairie, Nancy Howard of Sapulpa, Brenda Bryant of Tulsa and Cheryl Henriksen (KJ) of Cleveland, Oklahoma.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
