He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Lee Whitten Sr. and Florence Burdick Whitten-Webb; and his brother Lewis Whitten. He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Whitten (Penny) of Garvin, OK and Tera Whitten of Idabel, OK; his grandchildren, Anthony Lumia, Ashley of Ellijoy, GA and Channing O'Dell of Idabel, OK; his great grandchildren, Shevy Lumia "Punkin" of Ellijay, GA, Maxx Lumia, Elliajay and Aroura O'Dell of Omaha, NE; his sister Wanda Billingsley of Broken Bow, OK; and his close friend Janet Cress. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Holly Creek Cemetery.
