He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Carey and Lorene Carey; and his siblings, Oliver Carel Carey, Oscar Carl Carey, Guy Benton Carey, Gary Wayne Carey, Geneva Lenore Carey and Betty Jean Bishop.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Fauniel Tatar; his children, John (Pamela Carey) and Angelia (Kiawa Turner); his grandchildren, Guy, Anna, Emma Carey, Charlie Holder, Xanth and Kyra Turner; his brothers, James Arnold Carey of Irving and Harry Paul Carey (Mary) of Austin; and his brothers-in-law, Tommy Bishop of Durant, Wally Tatar (Judy) of Columbia and Dennis McGiles of Fort Myers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (314 N Rusk Ave, Denison, TX 75020). Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Patrick Church (314 N Rusk Ave, Denison, TX 75020).
