We are sad to announce that, on August 27, 2022, at the age of 101, Estelle Hughes of Checotah, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonas Dow and Maude Emma Willmon (Pollard); her husband George Hughes; her daughter Maudie Shackleford; her son-in-law Bill Shackleford; and her siblings, Willard of Britton, J. C., Obrey, Kenneth, Ella, Olene, Winnie and Lahoma.
She is survived by: her children, Twylla D. Kindell (Lamar) of Eufaula, Sherry Montgomery (Jimmy) of Eufaula, Penny Wright (Floyd) of Eufaula, George Wendell Hughes (Peggy) of Tulsa and Buddie Hughes (Linda) of Big Cabin. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
