He was predeceased by: his parents, E. G. Bennett and Opal Inez Bennett (Coberly); his wife LaVada Bennett; his daughters, Dana Bennett and Leslie Cantrell; his sisters, Faye Russell and Peggy Short; his brother-in-law Charles Short; and the mother of his children Helen Carroll Hogan.
He is survived by: his son Sammy Bennett (Spike) of Checotah; his stepchildren, Kevin Wilson of Chelsea, Oklahoma and Leanne Hill of Chelsea; and his brothers, Jerry Bennett of Maybank and Tommy Bennett (Cindy) of Maybank. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
