We announce the death of Janice Wilson of Checotah, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 81. Janice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Ray Stephens and Esther Marie Christopher (Baker); her former husband Bob Wilson; her husband Gene Alfred; her son Robert Wilson Jr. (Sue) of Checotah, Oklahoma; her siblings, Manuel Stephens, Roy Stephens and Joyce Parker; and her sister-in-law Phyllis Ray.
She is survived by: her sons, Jerry Alfred (Aretta) of Checotah, Oklahoma, Brian Wilson (Becky) of Stidham, Oklahoma, Mark Wilson (Melissa) of Stidham, Oklahoma and James Wilson (Ann) of Stidham, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Leah, Cody, Cierra, Devin and Dusti; her great grandchildren, Jace, Jami, Luna, Sutton, Delilah, Danny and Maeve; her siblings, Carolyn Thornton (Floyde), Wayne Stephens (Kathy) and Gloria Lacoste; and her friend Ann Hall of Arkansas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service (211 W Okmulgee Ave, Checotah, OK 74426).
