Jim left this world on May 18, 2026 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wiley and Dora Ann Matthews (Griggs); and his wife Peggy. He is survived by: his sisters, Dixie Snyder (Mike) of Haskell and Donna Anderson (Paige) of Bixby; his daughter Annette Newton (Fred) of Checotah; his grandchildren, Jared Mitchell of Checotah and Kyle Mitchell of Checotah; and his great grandchildren, Kylee, Kaden, Kloe, Kayleah and Dawsyn. He is also survived by 5 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a lifetime of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's memory to the Methodist Missions.
