It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Joe Hughes of Checotah, Oklahoma, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on September 20, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Hughes and Naomi Hughes (Christopher). He is survived by: his wife Rosie Bruner; his children, Laconia Hughes, Larri Hughes, Lanita Cunningham and Lamar Hughes (Tonia); and his siblings, Samuel Hughes, Esther Parker (Robert) of Kansas City, MO, Veronica Young (Bennie) of Kansas City, MO and Evelyn Mays of Atlanta, GA.. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, church family and friends.
