He was predeceased by: his father Billy James Sr.; and his grandparents, Oscar, Mamie James, Cecil and Annie Campbell.

He is survived by: his mother Mary Campbell of Hartshorne; his siblings, Bradley James of Catoosa and Trish Newsom-James (Nicole Newsome-James) of Claremore; his children, Joshua (Kaylee James) of Claremore, Jordan James (Dezzarai James) and Jessica Hutchinson (Sean) of Coweta; his aunt Shirley Thompson; his cousin Donald Lee Green of Hartshorne; and his grandchildren, Aurora Hutchison, Ethan James, Gracie James, Emery Hutchison and Ruby Hutchison.
