He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Veley and Maxine Veley; his sister Carol Richardson; and his daughter Patricia Ann Veley. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Veley; his children, Traca Haslam (Craig Haslam), Melissa Bolding (Bryan) and Larry; his stepchildren, Michael Cusato and Chris Cusato; his grandchildren, Clara Haslam, Luke Haslam, Eve Haslam, Ben Corman, Alex Corman, Allyson Fowler (Peyton), Michael Cusato II and Nicholas Cusato; his great grandchildren, Sawyer Fowler and Bennet Fowler; and his sister Myrna Millege.
