He was predeceased by: his mothers, Ester Lee and Kate Speights; his wife Carrie Speights; his siblings, Floyd, George, Eugene, Lucille, Wilder, Margaret and Grace; and his grandson Danny Tharp.

He is survived by: his children, Lonna Echols (Mike) of Checotah and Wayne Arthaud of Augusta, Kansas; his grandchildren, Chad, Derek, Bethany and Rebecca; and his great grandchildren, Gabrielle and Trenton.
