He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Harson A. Northrop and Tessie Northrop (Oftedahl); his daughter Katherine Elaine Northrop; and his siblings, Nina McGahan, Cyrus Northrop and George "Sonny" Northrop.

He is survived by: his wife Patty; his daughters, Tayna Mank (Steve) and Jan Seago (Jerry); his grandsons, Justin Seago (Kim) and Jeremy Seago (Annie); his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Kade and Kora Seago; and his siblings, Richard Northrop (Kay), Greg Northrop, Fiance Val, Dexter Northrop (Lynn) and Jean "Toots" Stewart Northrop.
