He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Cates and Johnnie Cates (Williams); his children, Robert Clinton Cates (JoAnna), Crecia (Darren DeVore), David and Johnny Cates; his grandchildren, Destrei (Chase Rohr), Zach (Kirby DeVore), Daniel DeVore (Alex Stanbro), Darrek DeVore, Jamie Cates and Parker Cates; his great grandchildren, Iverson DeVore, Everett DeVore, Presley Rohr, Ezra Rohr and Isaiah DeVore; and his sister Patty (Jimmy Bushyhead). He was also cherished by his family and many friends.
