It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Andrew Freeman (Claremore, Oklahoma), born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty I. Freeman (Tyree) and E. A. Freemanm; his siblings, Billy French, Carolyn Butler and Viola Wilson; and his grandparents, James H., Lonnie Freeman, Howard and Adelia Tyree.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Freeman of Inola; his son Andrew Freeman (Michelle) of Broken Arrow; his grandsons, Dylan Freeman of Inola and Jordan Whipkey of Tulsa; his great grandchild Jacob Freeman of Inola; and his siblings-in-law, Joe Funkhouser (JoBeth) of Claremore and Marcia Hall of Inola. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Life Baptist Church (24525 Frederick Rd, Claremore, OK 74019).
