He was predeceased by: his parents, John Goggans and Lena Goggans (Rodgers); and his son Bucky Bolen. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Goggans; his son Greg Goggans; his granddaughter Chaney; his children, Becky Bolen Haddad (Greg) and Benny Bolen; his grandchildren, Garrett Patch, Adam Eagleburger, Clayton Rackley and Bella Blue Bolen; and his daughter-in-law Jessica Bolen.

Memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in John's name and honor.
