He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Ed and Mary Gregg; his parents, Lawrence F. "Larry" and Lanelle Yates (Hammett); his mother-in-law Billie Brown; and his siblings, Mary E. "Beth" Chappell, Mary Hamilton (Hammett), Jim Hammett and Mark Hammett.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Brown; his sons, Christopher Yates of Holdenville, OK and Corey Yates (Stephanie) of Claremore; his grandchildren, Breanna Yates, Grayson Ricketts and Lily Ricketts; his siblings, Susan Krackov (Hammett) of Claremore, Jai Archer (Hammett) of Arkansas and David Yates (Paula) of Claremore; his brother-in-law John Brown (Linda) of Owasso; his siblings' children, Derek Yates, Justin Brown, Marc Brown, Zach Brown, Jason Srader, Kristin Hamblin (Jonathan), Randi Harris and Debi Bilby; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kayla Hamblin, Lily Hamblin, Lacey Hamblin, Claire Hamblin, Riley Yates, Tristan Yates, Cassie Ridge, Destinee Angel, Chase Ridge and Blade Dilldine.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home and Cremation Services-Claremore (102 W 5th St, Claremore, OK 74017).
